Lupprians invest in cutting their carbon footprint
Date: 26/7/2011
Lupprians have added 'Teardrop' profile trucks to its extensive fleet of specialist vehicles as part of their commitment to help reduce the carbon footprint of deliveries.
These new latest spec. fuel efficient trucks reduce carbon by way of lowering engine exhaust emission levels. The streamlined 'Tear drop' body shape technology optimises aerodynamic efficiency, reducing fuel consumption. This new combination of vehicles should reduce emissions by approximately 10%, depending on the road and driving conditions. For every 60,000 miles travelled, this combination will cut CO2 emissions by 8.4 tonnes.

Lupprian's environmental programme has already reduced carbon emissions by 28,000 tonnes over the past 18 months. This has been achieved by improving the efficiency of delivery networks, reducing numbers of miles travelled and introducing vehicle technology. Lupprians fleet follows the ECO5 principles, is CO2 managed and aim to be carbon neutral by 2016.
